Arr-2.jpgThe Waldman Collection - We Arrive"Headquarters" for the historic 2/9th reunion was Bldg 5678, Aultman Hall, located on top of the hill of Geronimo Road. Aultman Hall was the later "twin" of Allin Hall, Bldg. 5676. These two buildings were the new Officer BOQs going back to 1965. They are now a commercially-run hotel on Ft Sill property. My, how things have changed!Arriving for the historic reunion at Ft Sill, OK.
Lt Wayne Crochet and wife Carol chat with Lt Mike Kurtgis as they entered the front door. Both served as Forward Observers for The Mighty Ninth.

Arr-6.jpgThe Waldman Collection - We ArriveIt was nice to see the family members of our fellow veterans arrive and participate. There were several activities planned for them off post. Most of our redleg brothers trained here back in the 60s, so there was a lot of "remembrances" to be had.

Arr-8.jpgThe Waldman Collection - We ArriveChatting in the hallway as we arrived. We were in the midst of some very ominous weather reports. Tornadoes are common in this area and the sky was black and ugly. There were driving thunderstorms and high winds, but thankfully no tornadoes.

Arr-10.jpgThe Waldman Collection - We Arrive"Helluva deal, folks. We no sooner arrive here at the Lawton Country Club and they turn the durned power off." Jerry Orr addresses our gathering.

Our reunion had a rough start. The first night meeting at the Lawton Country Club was cancelled due to the heaving storming and tornado threats in the Lawton and Ft Sill area. The Club was kind enough to let us return the following night for another try.

We_Were_There-rev1.pdfThis a a "pdf" file using the Adobe Reader. If you are able to open and view it, you will see the names, addresses and Emails from the Registration Sheets.

The Adobe Reader is free software and probably a good thing to have on your computer. The software to create "pdf" documents is another matter. It for sale and pricey, too.

FtSillReunion-page1.jpgNews Coverage - Historic 2/9th ReunionThe Lawton Constitution newspaper gave coverage of our historic reunion at Ft Sill in May, 2013. Thanks to John "Moon" Mullins for contributing the article. In the accompanying photo, Raymond Hobbs peers through the eyepiece. Raymond was the RTO for Dennis Munden in the 66-67 era.
