Danny Yates

I arrived back in Oakland, CA in July, 1967.  Because I had less than 90 days remaining on my two-year obligation, I was discharged from the Army the same day.  I went from jungle to main street in about 48 hours.  I went back to school in September of that year, using the GI Bill.   I received a degree in Biology a few years later.  I took a position at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, IL in their department of Toxicology.  I met my wife at Abbott 30 years ago, and we are both retired now.  Our son lives and works in Denver, and we visit him whenever we have the chance (7 times last year).  We enjoy traveling and had an amazing trip last year to Israel/Egypt.  But right now, our focus is caring for our aging, ailing parents.
